There is a new play out with Judi Dench (M from James Bond) and Ben Wilshaw (Q from Skyfall) called Peter and Alice. It's about an encounter between the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland and the inspiration for Peter Pan. I've been dying to see it, but it's completely sold out. But I did some digging and I found out that they sell 10 pound day of tickets!!! So McKenna (one of my roommies) and I woke up at 5:30, left at 5:45 and got in line at 6:15! I'm an early morning line waiting pro now, and I was looking pretty good in my double layer jeans, three sweaters, jacket, scarf, and gloves. But the wait was worth it! We got tickets!!! I may have busted out a victory dance outside of the box office, which turns out is quite the oditiy over here. Based upon the sounds of their laughter at me, I'm sure I brightened the morning of a few chilly Brits today. Plus we could buy two per person, so McKenna and I each got an extra one and some girls that couldn't makeit this morning paid us 15 pounds for them (you can take the girl out of America, but you can't take America out of the girl).
Then Paige, Ashley, Maggie, Whitney, Brooke and I went to Westfield Mall. It was huge!!! And it had the best pretzels I've ever had (shout out to Mom). Then we went to Camden Market and got our bargain on. Ali, be excited, be very excited.
To kick off our Peter and Alice celebrations we went to the pub right next to the theater with Haley (aka woodland creature), Chloe R (yes, we have resorted to Bachelor abreivations in the house), Katie, and Lindsey for dinner. On the way to the pub I got really excited and got a huge smile on my face and started saying, "Guys, guys! We're going to see Judi Dench!!!" Which caused the bouncer outside of a stake house to say, "Now that's life! That's what I'm talking about!"
Pub food is my new favorite thing! I got myself some bangers and mash (sasages and mashed potatoes in gravy) and boy was it delish!!! Can't wait for two weeks of pub food on the road!!!
Peter and Alice was the weirdest, deepest, most bizarre, and most incredible and beautiful play I've ever seen. Judi Dench was incredible, and the rest of the cast was amazing. I loved it and it was definitely worth all the planning and waiting!!!
After that, we went to my favorite place in all of London, Amorino! We walked through SoHo (it was still lgiht outside) and saw everyone celebrating with mini brass bands for the football game, a hari krishna group dancing through the street, partiers, and the sun set; all while eating the best ice cream in the world. But while I was eating my cone I did have the realization that this was my last saturday night in London, and I got a bit sad; but then I ate more ice cream and was good :)
Today was definitely one of the best days I've had here :)
