Day 10- May 8th

We took the coach (fancy name for bus) through the countryside to Dover and Hever today! The bus ride was beautiful, minus the one person who threw up 5 min into the drive and the three others who reported motion sickness.

We've been so lucky with the weather with only one day of rain, but we paid for it today. When we pulled up to Dover Castle (we almost didn't get admitted due to the ticket lady's concern for our boisterousness. She told our professor to make sure we didn't spit on anyone!)  a massive wall of fog rolled in. We were 10 feet away from it and could not see it for the life of us. Then the wind picked up and it started to rain... hard. It made for some good, frozen memories but we were all more than happy to get back on the bus.

When we were all on the bus they announced that we were taking a detour to the beach so that we could see the famous White Cliffs of Dover... not necessarily a funtivity you want to do in the fog and rain. But right when we pulled up to the beach the clouds cleared, the sun came out, and it got warm! It was beautiful!

The weather even stayed fantastic when we got to Hever Castle, Anne Bolyen's home. We walked through the castle (where the workers thought we were all children and required that we had an adult for every 10 of us... again!), and then strolled through the Itallian gardens, which was possibly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.

We survived the ride home and met up with George for dinner at Mullberry Pizza and milkshakes... so good!
